No, the internet did not work by the office. We tried several times. Plus, it was below 30 outside and you wanted my wife and kids to sit outside the "Office" ( which is never open) to get internet. Really? . And the other camper did not have a booster. A booster would help the signal.
Clean bathrooms (no coin necessary....Free!!!), and coin operated washers and dryers!! Park was nice and right on the Santiam River which was perfect for fishing. The owners were quite nice and even helped us out with a minor repair to our rv. We will definitely stay at River Mountain RV Park again in the future!
I could say more but I don't want to hurt your business. I did want to share because we read your reviews and expected a nicer stay. We just love Google reviews and know some are just angry customers. I am not mad or trying to get back at the park. This is just what happened to us during our stay. Maybe, we were just the customer that everything bad happen to.
It is a very scenic place with lots of space between the sites. Pet friendly. Clean bathrooms and laundry though very small. We didn't get cable the first two weeks we stayed but when we did we got three channels. The plus side the internet worked the first two weeks but then never work again for the laptop or phone. Do not stay in the winter because the owner's do not plow the park. They said it was the city's job. I contacted the city and they only plow the main road not the sites. We had to shovel to get out. Management is poor. We left early.
The owners, Jim and Laurie, have been working hard to bring this long neglected park back to it's former glory. Showers and restrooms are older but spotless as is the laundry room. There is a covered pavilion with bench seats. The tent/dry camping area is closer to the river in a large grassy area with lots of shade.
I was being nice with my review and didn't mention the remarks the other camper said Mrs. Management had made about us or that the park is know as a "tweeter park" by the locals. The ambulance showed up the first day we stayed with lots of yelling and screaming. Not to mention the lasted visit the cops just made to the park.
Your comment about being in the country is getting old. We live in Idaho and know what living in the country is all about. In Idaho all the business owner's plow their business driveways and parking lots or they know they would not have business. I know Detroit, OR does this too!
We stayed only 1 night this trip but will be back in August with 45-50 good friends.
Since, we never made reservations I don't know what you are talking about. No mention was made that TV was limited. Management just kept saying "you are in the country" that is why it doesn't work. This is just an excuse.
My husband and I love this park. If you're a person, couple or family that enjoys peace, quiet, beautiful scenery and nature, this is the place for you! It is rustic and a little rough around the edges. The laid back, stress-free attitude of the park owners, however, make the experience up here completely rewarding. It is roomy, tidy, convenient and secluded. We have been up and down the I-5 corridor rv camping for 8 years. We have been completely comfortable in two rv parks. One in Joshua Tree, CA and this one. If you're looking for a highly groomed, patrolled and policed, resort type park, this is not it! This is camping!
In the past three years of staying in RV Park for my logging job this is the first bad experience we have had. I quit the job there because we didn't want to say in this park.
Reply to owner: What does the trees have to do with anything? We would have cleaned up any dog mess under the RV but after shoveling snow for hours and having to chain up all the way around to get out of the RV park it was dark and I didn't see any. Plus, the Camp host told us to just go.
I have worked in many places more remote and seduced than Idanha and they have all had better service and management. You get what you pay for but also you have to be at the park to correct problems. It took you two weeks to come to the park to fix the cable.
Like my wife said, "when management told us they would only pay $75 of the eclectic bill because they were not going to pay for any grow lights in the bathroom" we should have left then. She never felt safe with our two teen kids in the park.
We will definitely be back!!!! Very secluded, quiet, full hookups. Staff is extremely nice. Public restrooms & laundry very clean. We live about 1.5 hours away and spend many weekends at Detroit Lake and this RV park is only 3 miles from the marina. Hope to get family & friends to stay with us here.
A hidden gem beside the Santiam River! This is a campground, not an RV resort. Don't expect an activity director and pickleball courts. To get there you cross a one lane bridge over the river and travel a short ways thru the tiny rural Oregon town of Idanha. Roads and sites are level gravel with grass. Most sites are back in, but there are some pull thru sites. Any size RV can be accommodated. RV sites are full hookup and most have 50 amp power and cable TV.
The park has mature trees and trout fishing from the bank. You can wade on calmer water days. Just north of Detroit lake, trout are stocked at the bridge leading to the campground and many travel upstream as well as down.
